Sr. Maria Cabrini’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations

This year we celebrated the golden jubilee of Sr. Maria Cabrini. It has been 50 years since she made her first vows, and since then she has served our community in many ways, including as novice mistress and as prioress.

Bishop Gregory Kelly visited us to celebrate the golden jubilee mass.

The novices from the Dominican priory came to celebrate Sr. Maria Cabrini’s special day.

Sr. Maria Cabrini’s friends and family also came.

As well as the special jubilee mass, the community also planned a special day of feasting and fun.

Sr. Maria Cabrini grew up on a farm, so we had that as our theme for her “Barnyard Jubilee”.

We sang a special song for Sr. Maria Cabrini.

Sr. Mary Margaret read out some fun barnyard animal facts for a special program.

We also had fun doing table games, such as picture find and word find puzzles. (Can you see the friendly llama that came to wish Sr. Maria Cabrini a happy golden jubilee?)

We also played floor games, like find the chicken eggs and round up the pigs (balloons).

We’re very grateful for Sr. Maria Cabrini and all she has done for us.
